Just curious how the upgrade system works here. I am a 738 captain and I love this airplane. But someday I think I want to move up to widebodies and fly over the pond. I notice the test I can only take for F/O, but I am already a captain. Is this the only way to be promoted? Or is there another way to go around it? Thanx

Hi Tyler,
Since you're a stage 2 captain you can take the F/O exam of a stage 3 program. If you wanna cross the pond the 767 is the best call for a stage 3 aircraft.
Check the promotions manual in your Pilot Center --> Document Library --> Pilot Promotions Manual
Good luck with the exams smile

Regards

Tyler ,

You more than qualify to take the FO exam in the 757 and 767 catagory, as charlie ststed the reqirements are in the manual, and you should see the FO exam for the 57 or 67 in switch equipment programs, You can switch programs or obtain an aditional rating this way, also you can only take a FO exam when moving up a stage.

Tyler, whenever you move up a stage, you go back down to FO, then have to work your way back up to Captain. (i.e. if I transfered to the T7, I'd go as a FO, not as a captain, my present rank in the 767)
