In prep for my 10th flight and wanting to take the Captain's test for Stage 1 aircraft, I flew the ERJ-170 by accident on one of my flights and it will not count toward my promotion. I looked in the Promotion Guide and the ERJ-170 is not listed in the aircraft stages on Page 6. Is this a Stage 2 aircraft? In fact, since it doesn't count, althought I have 9 flights, only 8 count towards my 10 required to take the Captain's test right?

Yes, it is a Stage 2 aircraft. It is a typo on page 6. But it is correctly identified on page 9, which makes it an additional rating for the MD-88 series.

Andrew,

The staff had a difficult time deciding whether the EMB-170 was a stage one or two aircraft. As Dan said we ultimately decided on stage two, because the EMB-170 flies more like a 737 than a CRJ or even an EMB-145. It is more complex, and requires better handling, and more experience in order to fly.
