I am pleased to announce the release today of ACARS Build 65, and Build 79 of the Golgotha web application.

Build 79 introduces the Flight Academy, as well as a number of minor changes throughout the application. We now support an MSN Messenger profile, as well as a "personal motto" or callsign that we list in the Water Cooler under your name. Hopefully this will facilitate communications and allow you to personalize things a bit.

ACARS Build 65 fixes a significant latent bug in the ACARS protocol implementation - it had a nasty habit of reusing IDs which would cause hangs and timeouts. If you are flying offline flights using ACARS and uploading the data at the end of the flight with the PIREP, I *strongly* urge you to download Build 65. I will be deprecating the earlier builds within a week or two, so please upgrade when you can.

Once the Flight Acaademy gets shaken out and stable, I am very close to labeling a release as FINAL and taking a few weeks off.

Cheers!

I really like the personal motto - just put in a quick one for now, will think of a better one later - the MSN profile looks good too!

Thanks so much for the hard work with the Flight Academy stuff Luke!

For the motto, guys, I am going to list my status for the next few weeks, so you won't be asking. "Is she married yet?"

I am not sure if we've ever had to address this before Brittany, but Luke, can the system deal with a last name change?

It can. I'll do it when Brittany advises us how she wants her married name to appear.
