Michael Holmes, DVA2855, has successfully graduated from the Private Pilot Course in the DVa Flight Academy! He was put through a 2.4 hour check ride tonight and he did a pretty good job. Michael, you flew that EMB-120 straight and level at 14,500' the whole way and did a great job with it - kudos to your CFI Scott Clarke on a job well done as well!
Michael is the 2nd PPL graduate from the DVA Flight Academy!
Congrats Michael!

Thanks alot George, that wasn't easy!!!!! I had to work at it, that single engine land wasn't easy by far!!!! But we made it on the ground safely!!!! An unexpected throttle failure always makes for an interesting landing, but we made it!!!!

Michael: You did it! Congrats on passing the first stage of the DVA Flight Academy and your intensive checkride with George Lewis. We did not practice single engine proceedures, but I will put that into my next training session with my students. Enjoyed the training sessions and hope you learned a few things. Your landings and pattern work improved three fold during the course and I know you will do well when you climb into the C-172 for real world training in a few weeks. See ya in the skys and around the cooler. Scott Clarke CFI DVA Flight Academy

CONGRATULATIONS MICHEAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know you're proud of this one. A single engine failure couldn't be nearly as bad as dodging Brits going the wrong way could it???? ROFLMAO

Yeah... when ACARS shows you under -200 and -300 fpm, I think those are pretty good. I'm not sure what is happening when you get a -1 ft/min...
What I'd love to see is some landing competitions where we see who lands closest to a spot on the runway, measured in feet. Not sure how we'd implement that though...
