Boy it is scary to think back to my first days with Flight Simulation. There is just so much to learn. A good place to start is www.avsim.com and www.flighsim.com. Those web sites have libraries full of web links, planes and scenery to add to your flight simulator, etc. etc. etc. and forums for asking questions just like this one. Good luck as it appears that you are beginning to only scratch the surface of this hobby. We are all here to help, so don't hesitate to ask away.

Regards.

P.s. Usually when you download a plane, it comes with instructions on how to add it to your files.

Go to Avsim.com and search for Project Open Sky CRJ-200. It is the very best CRJ-200 out there. If you like, you can give my your email and I can also email you a new panel for it when you feel your ready to start messing with those things. Let me know and Welcome Aboard!

No Problem! I'll get it out to you after I'm done flying DAL83. Enjoy it, it is the best panel that I've ever seen for any FS aircraft...EVER. Look for it in your email.

Conrad, welcome. We have all had the same questions, so never be afraid to ask right here. Also I believe if you go to www.flightsim.com, you might find there a program that will automatically install new planes, panels, and scenery for you if you're not familiar with the 'manual' method, but it's good to learn the manual.

Hello.
I'm new at DVA as well. I've got some great flight sim experience and have been messing around with add-ons and downloads and feel that I have some info that might be of some help. I would suggest, as you download and install planes/panels/scenery that you first take a look at the file structure in your particular flight sim (mine is FS2K, so I probably can't give you specifics). Looking at your current file structure is good for getting familiar with what you'll need in your downloaded files. Most designers do a damn good job of zipping their files in such a way that you'll rarely need to do anything more than unzip the files. May I suggest you check out the following web site for some great info on how to install, update, alias files for your flight sim.

http://www.simviation.com/fsdhelp.htm

http://www.simviation.com/lair/main.htm

Good Luck with that. Welcome to the Flight Sim community in General, and DVA especially.
