I've talked myself in circles and need a definitive answer regarding what ACFT can be flown on a given route. Can you fly any suitable aircraft on any given route? Example DAL1088 is a ATL to BOS run scheduled as a MD-88. Can you fly the B767 or B737 on this route with this flight number and get credit or must the schedule flight number and aircraft match?

I've look thru other Water Cooler posts but, to me, this remains clear as mud.

Thanks for the help.

You're allowed to substitue any aircraft onto any route as long as the aircraft can safely fly the distance and safely land and takeoff from the airport.

E.g Air france flies BAe 146s into London-City, and although the 747 can make the flight distance with ease, you'd be lifting a 747 out of the Docks, because the runway's too short.

In answer to your question, yes, you could substitute both the 767 ot the 737 on the ATL-BOS flight.

Cheers
