I was taking the 757 exam this afternoon and I came across a question regarding the thrust for a 767.

I answered the question for a 757 (because that's the exam I was taking) and indicated I was doing same in my response.

Was I wrong to do so?

David, I could be wrong but I think that the question spawns from the times when the 757 and 767 programs were combined as one. I wouldn't worry about it too much, and maybe since you said that you were giving the 757 numbers that will be ok. I would say direct it to the 757 program managers so that the changes could be made... good luck on the test though, I'm sure you did well! Have fun with the 757 too... beautiful plane, and a joy to fly too!

yes, the 757 exam does have a couple of questions in reference to the 767. th3 pilot encyclopedia states that you can fly the 767 when you have the 757 rating. I dont think that DVA does that anymore. when i went from 737 Captain to 757 first officer my profile does not show the 767 series as aircraft that i can fly.The thrust for 767-200 with the cf-6 turbofans is 57,100 lbs, the 767-300er with the cf6-80c2 is 62,100lbs and with the pw4062 turbofans is 63,300lbs the 767-400er with the cf6-80c2 is 63,500lbs. hope that helps.

I believe the 757 and 767 tests are the same. one of my 757 tests had one 757 question and the rest 767 questions. the flight deck on the two aircraft are almost identical

The tests are supposed to be different or at least have some aircraft specific questions. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We will look into it and correct the exams.

As for being able to fly both 757 and 767 with one rating, that not longer applies. You are correct that the flight encyclopedia is incorrect and needs to be updated. To be rated to fly the primary aircraft, you need to pass the FO exam and pass a Check Ride.
