Hi all,

I joined a little over a month ago and this is my first VA experience. I have a question about Flight Legs.

I notice on our flight schedule that flights usually indicate Leg 1 or Leg 2. When reporting a flight leg (either through ACARS or manually) of a multi-leg flight assignment that I built for myself should I use the Leg number indicated in the schedule or the Leg number the flight is in the Flight Assignment I built.

For example,… this weekend I plan to fly the following flight:

DVA606 Leg 1 Hamilton Bermuda (TXKF) - Atlanta GA (KATL)

It is listed in the schedule as Leg 1 however it is the 2nd Leg of a 3 Leg flight assignment I built for myself. I’d like to report it as Leg 2 so it will appear as such in my logbook. Is the PIREP likely to be rejected with a different Leg number?? Or do Leg numbers not matter?? Maybe I need a primer on Flight Legs to begin with. smile

Thanks in advance!

Most Delta flights are non-stop from point A to point B, with no stops in between. However, from time to time we have flights with an intermediate stop, and to distinguish each flight leg in the schedule database we mark them as leg 1 or 2 (or 3, 4, 5). It's preferrable that the PIREP contain the actual flight number and leg as they appear in the schedule, but we don't enforce that. You should note that the system will not let you input a leg greater than 8.

Cheers!
