One of our goals since the start of our ACARS project in 2004 is complete integration with the panel of the aircraft you are flying. Our goal is to allow you to load a flight plan into ACARS, and from then on deal with ACARS from your aircraft panel to track flight and connection status, as well as file your PIREP.

To enable this, I have partnered with Douglas Dawson to create a pair of Flight Simulator gauges that allow you control and view ACARS status from your aircraft panel. The picture above shows you the prototype in our DC-8-33 test aircraft. Now, I am not a graphic designer, and I need assistance creating background bitmaps that look good on a variety of aircraft panels. I am looking for one or more graphic designers who can assist me in creating bitmaps that will be used as part of the ACARS gauge.

PLEASE NOTE THAT NO CODING EXPERTISE IS REQUIRED. The entire gauge is programmed using XML, and is relatively intuitive. You just need to supply a bitmap name, size and X/Y offsets and FS9 will take care of the test.

Please contact me via e-mail if you are interested.

Cheers!

Things just keep getting better! I hope this one works out 'cause my system doesn't like it when I switch tasks too much.

Keep up the good work Luke!

Luke, will we be able to install that gauge in payware such as Wilco, LVLD, Etc?

That is our intention. We have a reserved FSUIPC offset range courtesy of Pete Dowson, and there is nothing I am aware of that would cause the gauge to be inoperative in advanced payware aircraft.

Cheers!

Luke,

I'm not a pro but I've done a bit of liveries and repaints. I'd be happy to help out if needed.

BTW, did you get my email about painting a Delta livery for the future Dash-8 fleet installer?

Drew
