I would like someone besides Jared to look at my last test for crj captain. There are two questions, the flaps question and the engines question, that I believe are absolutely correct. Flaps create lift at all times and also drag, which can be useful for landing. The engines question I gave the exact model number as listed in our CRJ manual. If this is not ocrrected I will be leaving this airline.

Well I probably shouldn't get involved in this thread, but first off... Flaps create lift at all times? I don't know about you but I don't cruise with flaps down.. razz

Anyways, this isn't really appropriate for a forum, an e-mail to staff would have been better. Just a suggestion.

flap create lift when they are down do they not? When the trade-off between lift for drag becomes excessive of course you put the flaps up...What a ridiculous statement Evan.

Bryan, publicly demanding that your examination be regraded, calling another member's statement ridiculous and threatening to leave the airline if you don't get your way is not a good long-term strategy. It's not really going to affect what we do one way or another, but it's going to put you in a situation where you box yourself in.

I took a look at your examination, and I then reviewed the CRJ manual. I don't typically handle examinations, but in fairness your answer on flaps could be re-examined and I wouldn't raise an eyebrow either way it was scored. However, I would suggest that you re-examine the manual regarding engine types. While the engine type is one exactly out of the manual, it is not the type installed on the CRJ model in question.

If I gave you the benefit of the doubt on the flaps question, it still wouldn't change the overall result of the exam. I feel for you, because you've come really close to passing twice and maybe a deep breath or two and a few more minutes of review when writing the exams will make the third time the charm. But I cannot pass the exam, so you need to determine what you want to do. Making a public pronouncement puts you in a difficult spot, not us. We do welcome you and urge you to stay, but it is (as always) your decision.

Cheers!

I apologize if I seemed demanding, This was not my intention, I am just kinda tee'd off I failed the damn test again and especially whwn it seems that I got 2 of the incoreect questions correct, which would allow me to pass. And why is it neccesary to know the exact engine model anyways? Will this help me fly the aircraft better? I think not. Anyhow, sorry to seem demanding and if needs be I will retake this test 100 times until I pass. Over and Out.

Oh, and you are right, the engine is the wrong type for the aircraft mentioned. I was not expecting the 700, so I can see how I missed that one
