I have never pretended to know a lot about commercial aircraft (I am learning as I go along), but I am curious to know why the F100 is in the Stage1 program and the ERJ-170 is in Stage2. To my untrained eye, they seem to be similar type aircraft.

The ERJ-170 was placed in Stage 2 because of it's larger size compared to the ERJ-145 and CRJ-200. I'm not sure why the F-100 was placed where it was, but based on size it would make more sense for it to be Stage 2, based on that rationale. I'll revisit this issue with staff and see if some reclassification is in order.

Thanks Matt. I was just trying to understand how those decisions were made. Again, too me, toe 100 and 170 seem to be similar in size and from what I can tell are used in similar situations. I am certainly not trying to create more work for the staff, but I have this tendency to ask if I don't know or understand something.

well look at it this way, the DHC-8 rating comes with the 757 rating. does that make sense? lol. just accept it and move on, it doesnt have to make sense.

The DHC-8 rating is a default rating that all new hires receive regardless of stage that they are placed. The DHC-8 was added to our fleet after the cutover to DVA2006. Some pilots profiles were not updated by the system as intended. Let me know by email if your profile does not have the DHC-8 rating.
