So I know this is far off as individuals still have to upgrade computers and more importantly, buy the game but here is a thought for those who get the deluxe version of FSX. With the new integration of 2 player flights and the ability to fly from the Co-pilots position, there is a new way to fly long hauls or short hauls with the real flight atmophere of a true heavy flight. especially with cross cockpit radios in fsx. Is there a posibility we might have the option here to team up and fly these together in the future. Not only that but it would give the true experience of a captain and FO flying together and even training the FO on very impotant skilles already known by senior pilots in the left seat. I know this sounds complicated, but it only will be if you make it and I would assume only those with experience would bring it to the level of real world 2 person flights, but for those out there that are not familiar its as simple as sharing flight responsibilities such as nav aids, Vspeeds and split takeoff / landing ops while getting an actual true takeoff to landing experience of real world pilots. Does this sound like something that is a possibility in the future?

This is one of the features of FSX that I do like. I have flown twice now with a good friend of mine that is a real-world CRJ pilot and former instructor at a flight school where I worked. It was the closest thing to being back in a plane with him. I also think that this will help with the academy courses.

This is a great feature of FSX that I also have used already. I've flown with our very own Wilson Ortiz ... albeit only in a Mooney ... but the co-pilot/captain feeling is definitely there. Our first flight i took copilot role, taking control of flaps, gear, lights etc. On the return leg i was PIC , navigating and flying the aircraft while he took the sideseat role. It really worked out well. Jay - i agree with you that this will really come to light with a full fledged airliner. I would love to fly my LDS for example with a human co-pilot.

it add a role that i haven't felt since flying the kc-135 in the military So i couldn't help bringing up the suggestion to implement it. Like I said, I know it will take time but I do hope someone in the senior positions will consider this an option for us and a way to fly and report flight hours. This is really about as close as it comes to flying in real life, especially with vatsim up and running full force. Im glad to hear others are willing to at least consider this in the next 6+ months!!!

I think it will be a great feature when it becomes accepted by the community, and add-ons for FSX become available and leverage it.

David i asked this question to myself the first time i ever tried the shared cockpit... i think it would be wonder full...

P.S. could we possibly (if the flight instructors had FSX) use FSX instead of installing all thos like 5 free trial things in order to fly for the DVA flight school?

If you want to fly copilot with another pilot and use FS2004, you can pay $10 and use fsnet/copilot but beware, it doesn't work well with payware birds...

Mike,
We don't support FSX in the Flight Academy (yet) for the main reason that the panel is missing many gauges. When this is fixed we'll offer support for it. I have flown the EMB-120 in FSX and it flies ok, but the panel is the issue.

If we are going to do this than it will be awhile because not many people have FSX yet, and they might never get it. I agree with Steve that everyone has to accept it first before anything is going to occur farther.

I think that this unique feature in FSX will forever change VA industry within 2 years when majority of us will held FSX. Also new procedures will come, such as formal communications/orders, effective decision making involving two crew members, area of responisbility on the panel and much more.

I thought this myself when FSX came out and I heard the co-pilot feature was on here. I love the idea fellow DVA pilot shwan Johnson and myself have done several flights. I just hope that it will support payware and freeware add on aircraft well. Being in the airforce working on my comission to fly and growing up with a dad who has flown for real world Delta for 24 years I can assure you this is as close as you can come with out haveing a real full motion simulator. Look forward to sharing the controls with you all.

cheers,
scott
