Congrats goes out to Sid Dudley, DVA3710, who passed his PPL checkride tonight, proving he was capable of hand flying the airplane. This included flight planning, fuel planning, ATC communications, online flying, cross country navigation using NDBs and VORs, pitch power and trim, slow flight, stalls, turns, climbs and descents and even traffic pattern work. Sid also aced his PPL exam...
The only problem we had on the entire checkride was when I had him go around for the "gator on the runway with the Georgia Bulldog in his mouth" - Sid attempted to smack the Bulldog with his wingtip and nearly hit the Gator so he got a scolding from me "Sid, don't do that again unless you are absolutely SURE you have a clean shot at the Bulldog and won't hit the Gator!"
Unfortunatey the Gator was gone by the time we got around for another go at it and he had to settle for a spot on landing instead
