I am interested of taking advantage of the code share opportunities DVA offers but I noticed the timetables are not as robust as the real world schedules. In particular, the QANTAS B763 flights are only the Singapore to/from hops. Since QANTAS has 29 B763s in their fleet I know they use them more than that. I know there are verification limitations to using the real world scheduling and/or accesss to schedule data, etc.

Any suggestions from management on how to take advantage on the real world schedules or beef up the timetables in the DVA system?

Thanks.

Rick, our schedule is derived (downloaded) from the real world Delta schedule. There are some quirks thaht are slowly being ironed out. But I sense that what you are asking is why we don't have more flights from our partner airlines within the DVA schedule. I can appreciate what you are saying. But the plain fact is that just because a certain airline is a partner airline with Delta doesn't mean that every flight within that airline's schedule is going to be in our schedule. In the real world, codeshares are agreements between airlines to allow sale and booking of flights within that airline's schedule by other airlines (in this case our partner airlines). Since we try to model our operations as closely as practical with the real world Delta airlines we made a strategic decision to use the real world delta schedule. That schedule does include codeshares. But it doesn't mean that just because a flight is in the Quantas schedule that we can fly it. It must be found in our schedule to count for PIREP purposes.

If I recall correctly, QF isn't even a Delta partner - it's an Air France codeshare.

There's a simple test you can do to determine wether a particular codeshare should be included in our schedule - has either DL or AF assigned a flight number to it? If so, it should be included. If not, then no.

Cheers!
