Awesome! Mine wasn't 30 years ago (only 20!) but what a feeling - enjoy it, remember it - and everytime you fly gain that Situational Awareness - and figure out what you can do better each time - file away all you learn and hear - so you can dig back through your kit bag in the "back when I did this...." file to help you in the future!

Scariest time of my instruction was when the instructor stepped out of the plane on the runway and told me to "take it around the pattern". Enjoy the freedom and the responsibility that comes with it!! smile

Very good Stephen! Please do not tell me your instructor cut your shirt tail off like mine did! Good thing I had on an old T-shirt when I did it!

Yep I remember mine in was way back in 1976 or 77. Sheeze I'm getting old. If I can crawl out of this truck long enough one of these days I'll be back flying. Hauling freight on the ground sure is fun but tiring.

Congrats, Mine was about 10 years ago. What a feeling. My instructor said we were just goin' to "work the pattern" that day and after 3 touch and goes asked me to taxi to the FBO. He then got out and said "give me the same 3 touch and goes" I couldn't believe he was serious. You will never forget this moment. Enjoy it.

I soloed about a year ago in a glider. It's alot different soloing in a glider instead of a power plane. All you can hear is the wind rushing by the glider. Its sweet
