Hi,
I am stage 3 pilot with several stage 4 ratings.
Is it possible that I get MD-80 ratings added to my profile, or should I take a test (sorry for asking this, I am inactive for a while). I am going to buy the Maddog 2006 aircraft, and it would be nice to be able to fly it for DVA.

You could also use the DVA Fleet installer and get your checkride out of the way, then move to the payware bird. the fleet MD-88 flies pretty nice...

I agree with George. Get to know and use the fleet 88 for your checkride. Then consider purchasing the MD2006 as your MD of choice. Depending on your PC, the MD2006 could tax your system a bit causing a few headaches during your CR...not too mention the added systems that require some additional knowledge to operate. Good luck!!

now I do aggree with george and Norm> I would use the fleet MD-88 on your checkride that way its better for you to use the systems then after you pass your CR if you want you can get the MD06 or get the JCA (model only) I use the JCA model with the LAGO panel, and I also use the MD06 as well both a/c are good. Oh and btw GOOD LUCK!!! on that CR

Retro flying all the way... Since taking the taking the PPL and Comm courses I get more out of flying SIDS and STARS by hand rather than sitting back and watching the FMC do all of the work. biggrin

I have the coolsky, which is great too, but since it uses that old navigation system and not a regular FMC I never bothered with the checkride.
If the Maddog 2006 is so good, I want it regardless of the DVA ratings.
And my interest in the plane is because of the systems, not because of the ratings. I'll get to know it, and when I'm ready I'll take the checkride in it. I got great feedback about in in VATIL's forum as well, and I am pretty conviced I am going to buy it.
