Its usally pretty quick, but may take up to a day !!! Cause you got to remember
there 2500 active pilots and with most of them flying frequently theres alot of flight
plans being filed that neet to be approved so you just gotta be patient !!!

BTW: you can fly more flights if you previouse FP hasnt been approvded yet !!!

Well, Scott, you didn't wait long, I went in there and tried to approve it as soon as I read your message, and somebody sniped it out from under me. smile

Remember that all PIREPs are approved manually by staff (senior management or chief pilots/assistant chief pilots), so it can take some time, especially with people being on vacation and this being a heavy flying season. I don't think I've ever had one take longer than a day in 3 1/2 years here, and the majority are just a few hours (or maybe the next morning after a night flight).

Welcome to DVA!

When we instituted the 2500 pilot limit, we made a change to the activity policy. Instead of requiring pilots to log in every 90 days, we reduced that down to 45 days. The practical result of this change was that approximately 250 pilots have been purged out in the last few days - some under the old 90 day policy, others under the new 45 day policy. Based on my cursory examination of the logs, these double cohorts have been eliminated and I expect the total size to start going up again.

Cheers!

Pireps get approved faster if you use ACARS since ACARS verifys the vaildity of your flight before you ever push back from the gate. Use it! It is an amazing tool.
