That's correct. If anything, you're probably better off NOT flying online, since that'll add yet another level of distraction.

Luke's right. I require the 727 checkride to be flown offline and without FS ATC, because I require it to be flown a certain way and the ATC (online or offline) would just get in the way. It's just got to be on ACARS, and of course the "this is a checkride" box has to be ticked.

Nick, read the checkride description. It will tell you whether you should fly it online or offline. If the description does not say, then you can assume you can fly it offline, but if you have a question, email the CP of that program and confirm it with them before flying.

You don't have to fly ONLINE..but you must use ACARS. That is the only way the CR can be analyzed. No ACARS...no checkride.
