I'm rated as first officer in the 737 (hopefully getting that left seat assignment soon). Once I make captain, I want to take the Embraer ERJ-170 from New Orleans to Montego Bay, Jamaica. This is listed in the schedule as a historical flight on the DC-8. While I am not rated on the DC-8 (nor am I striving for that quite yet, as I have plenty of aircraft to fly as a 737 captain), can I still take this flight in the ERJ-170 and get normal flight hour/leg credit for it?

Again, I've done my ten legs for the 737 upgrade (just waiting for my test to go through the system), so I'm not using this flight for an upgrade, but just for flight hours and a new challenge. Is this kosher?

Can't wait for that fourth stripe (hopefully)! Been out of the cockpit for seven months; glad to be back!

Sounds kosher to me Tim! If you are rated to fly the the ERJ-170 (which you are) you can use it, or any other aircraft you are rated for that matter to fly any route in the DVA system wheather it be a historic flight or not; wheather the aircraft shown is a 737 or 767-400, you can fly the route (so long as your aircraft has the range).
Good luck and have fun!

Indeed I am...on terminal leave right now, but I've been at Barksdale AFB for two years. Who's your brother/where's he work?
