Things are moving along slowly, but smoothly. I believe I have completed the code to automatically push content out to the FTP mirrors. It will run every day between 0100 and 1100 ET, and I have around 15MB of stuff to push out tonight. We'll see how well it goes. If the FTP push works properly, I will update the interface we use for downloads, and we can start getting off the ground.

As I build the installers, I am also revisiting all the manuals for minor formatting tweaks and common content improvements. As they get done, they get added to the Document Library again. I intend to get the Document Library online late this week, with a common set of new documentation.

Just as a reminder, the installers are designed as an "all-in-one" package to get you flying quickly. You will get several high quality aircraft, a good working panel, and the operating manual. The only thing not included are sounds, but these will be an optional download from the installer. As an example, the 777 installer currently has no fewer than TEN aircraft; seven versions of the MelJet 777-200, plus three repaints of the default 777-300 that comes with FS2002. Each one will install properly into FS2002, with an accurate and realistic tail number.

We're looking at 7 to 17 MB in size; but well worth it. I think the present means of bundling aircraft/panels leaves a LOT to be desired; this will give pilots the ability to download a single file, run it, and be flying a new aircraft within minutes.

Cheers!

Luke

Nice!

Luke, would you like me to email you the ATR I repainted so that you can make an installer? Or would you like me to wait until you get the other stuff done...please let me know.

Heck, even if you were twice as smart as Luke, that still wouldn't say very much.

FWIW, I will probably release the NSIS scripts for the installers, for backup purposes and to give everyone an idea of how I do things.

Cheers!
