I see that a lot of people are flying flights with different equipment types than that on the DVA schedules... Are you allowed to do this?

yes, as long as you are rated to fly the plane and it can legally make the flight with reserves. This mean the flight is within the plane range and the plane can make it there with reserved fuel for a alternate airport or something.
