they are the same as the CRJ200 except the engines are older and not efficiant, most carriers that use the CRJ100 have upgraded the engines now to CRJ200 engines making them much more efficiant, so a lot of times flying on a CRJ100 really means you are on a CRJ200 because they upgraded the CRJ1 engines

Quinn has got it! All the CRJ-100s were replaced with more efficient engines.
