Hi all.

Well, I've just completed the first leg of my Trans-USA odessy in a boeing 727-200. My route takes me from Fairbanks Alaska, to Juneau, Seattle, Los Angeles, San Diego, Phoenix, Cincinatti and La Guardia. Finally, I'll try for a La Guardia/Atlanta route, as that will take me to my tenth flight in the 727, so I can apply for my fourth stripe, and of course, bring the old bird home for an overhaul and a good rub down with an oily rag! I oughta know the 727 pretty well by then! All legs are offical DVA Historic routes flown on ACARS. I'm trying to stick to the same rules as my 727 checkride; no AP below 5000, VOR to VOR navigation where possible and manual landings in the Fleet 727-200.

The fist leg wen't OK. Weather was fair, for the time of year, scenery was majestic, and the visual approach and landing at Juneau went smoothly enough, though I was a little too fast and my rate of descent might well have buckled a few struts!!

The next leg is Juneau to Seattle. I'll try and report on each leg.

Andrew,

Don't worry, you didn't even make her wince at touchdown. She's a tough ol'gal. Enjoy your tour. By time you are done, you won't ever want to go back to push-button airplanes.

Great set of routes Andrew. Some of them are really awesome to fly with the 727.
